Love This Post!

A Fresh Start

Welcome to my new blog!

As you may have noticed, my blog was a little dated because I hadn’t changed the layout of it for over a year but for the past few months I have been working with a web designer to get it just right.

I couldn’t be happier with it and I hope after reading this post you will have a browse and get to know your way around it. I fell out of love with it before because I wasn’t happy with the way it looked, but I can’t wait to get back into blogging now that I am inspired again.

To celebrate the relaunch of my blog, I organised a competition for my viewers to win a beautiful hamper full of my favourite things including some healthy snacks, my favourite beauty products and a wash bag. I was so overwhelmed with how many of you entered, so thank you so much for showing your support! I will be emailing the winner soon.

So, what can you expect to see here?

Well, as my YouTube and social media platforms have always been lifestyle based covering everything and anything from food to fashion, you can expect the same here. One of my favourite things to post about is fashion, so I’ll be showing you some of my favourite outfits from a variety of affordable as well as high end brands.

You can also expect to see me writing about my current favourite restaurants around London, other parts of the UK and abroad. I love discovering new vegan or healthy places to eat so I will be covering that here, but I will also be talking about a range of restaurants that are perfect to visit for an occasion that anyone would love.

I’ll be creating a few simple recipes here and there for you too, so keep your eyes out for those!

I’ve always loved travelling to new places but due to writing my cookbook over the past few months I haven’t been able to travel as much as I would’ve liked to. Now that I have finished writing Eat Smart I am hoping to start travelling again, and I will of course be covering this on my brand new blog too.

What have I been up to?

So let’s have a well overdue catch up! I owe you readers an explanation of where I have been, because you have probably noticed I haven’t been as active as I used to be on this space.

The most noteworthy update of my life is that I have been busy writing a cookbook, full of delicious healthy recipes – nearly 150 altogether! They’re all plant-based, but I promise you even if you are the biggest meat or dairy lover (like many of my friends are) you will still love the food I have created. I like to think there really is something for everyone in there to enjoy making and eating. It’s like my baby that I’m waiting to be born and I’m so excited to present the book to you on 8th September! You can pre-order your copy now from Amazon and a signed copy from Waterstones (and here if you’re in Australia or New Zealand). If you’d like to meet me and would like me to sign a book for you in person, I’m going to be announcing tour dates very soon!

I have also been building the business that my friends Marcus, Max and myself have set up together, SourcedBox. If you’re not too familiar with it yet, it’s a monthly subscription box full of healthy snacks. The idea is that when you’re feeling peckish and most likely to grab a packet of crisps or bar of chocolate, you can pick something out of SourcedBox instead that tastes delicious but is made from much better ingredients. One thing I found difficult when I first starting eating healthily is knowing what brands of so called ‘healthy’ food were actually, truly healthy. We’ve done the hard work for you and only source the very best snacks for the box so that it’s easy for you to snack happily with your mind at ease.

I have been uploading my videos to YouTube every Sunday at 6pm as always. I’m often asked what running a YouTube channel actually entails. I think because I am managed by a company called Gleam Futures, people often assume that means they do everything for me, which is ludicrous! I create all the content ideas for my channel, I film myself using a Canon 70d (unless I need some help for videos such as recipes and lookbooks, in which case I’ll work with the lovely Suzi Ovens), and I edit everything myself too on Final Cut Pro. The next step is uploading, scheduling and releasing it for you to watch.

As well as everything I’ve just mentioned I also attend daily meetings, go to evening events and work closely with the model agency I’m signed with, Models1. Oh, and keeping my Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter up to date every day! I’m simply ‘niomismart’ on all platforms incase you fancy following (stalking) me 24/7.

It has been a busy few months but I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. I’m looking forward to adding ‘updating my blog frequently’ to that list too!

I really hope you enjoy reading my blog and keeping up to date with the posts.
