How Accessories Can Transform An Outfit
We’ve all heard the saying ‘Less is More’, and I try to live by this mantra when it comes to personal style. Sometimes there’s nothing better than a plain white T and ripped jeans to work as your blank canvas, which you can then add your own finishing touches to, to make it more personal.
An outfit I have always felt comfortable in is exactly that. These jeans from River Island* are a perfect fit, and I’ve rolled them up at the ankles for a more laid back look. I’ve worn a beautiful tailored navy blazer by Reiss* over a plain white T-Shirt from Gap* to create the ultimate smart-casual look, teamed up with a few accessories to make it my own.
It’s true that accessories really can make or break an outfit. Without them, an outfit can look flat and unrefined, and more often than not it’s the accessories that are key to transforming an ordinary outfit into an extraordinary outfit.
They’re also one of the most affordable ways of keeping up with current trends. Save yourself buying a whole new outfit by simply changing up your jewellery and handbags every now and again. Or to make it even more affordable, make your own like I have here with a ribbon choker. It cost approximately 50p for this small cutting of ribbon, and by simply tying it around the neck you instantly have a chic choker that adds a pop of colour.
