Finding The Perfect Winter Coat
It’s not an easy task finding the perfect Winter coat. The problem I have is that every single year I picture in my mind exactly what I am after, but I can just never find it. There are obviously coats in the stores in every kind of colour, shape and fabric you can think of, but somehow none of them fit my criteria!
Fortunately, I have found my perfect Winter coat this year. But not just one; I have found 3! These beautiful coats are of varying styles – faux fur, check and oversized. I have worn them here with the same outfit underneath to show how different an entire outfit can look depending on the outerwear.
Considering you’re probably going to be wearing the same coat for about 90% of the next few months, you better make sure you love it!

- French Connection* Faux Fur Leopard Coat
I have always lusted over people in faux fur coats but could never find the right one for myself. Some are brightly coloured, some are too short, others too long. And then one afternoon I found myself wandering into French Connection after spotting this leopard number in the window.
I love combining a somewhat glamorous leopard print with something a bit edgier to contrast, so I’m going to be wearing this with ripped jeans, a white t-shirt, chunky boots and messy hair.
2. Next* Heritage Check Coat
Has anyone else noticed check coats are EVERYWHERE recently? They’re plastered all over the front of shop windows, in magazine shoots and worn by every other person in London. I did actually have a moment last week wearing this on the tube when I realised there were 3 other girls around me in similar check coats!
This one by Next is the best one that I have seen on the high street. It’s the perfect length, the check is just right, and the shape is a flattering fit.
3. Chi Chi Oversized Coat
This one is slightly different for me. I’m quite a petite frame, so I tend to avoid oversized clothes in the fear that it’ll drown me and make me look even smaller. However, I have broken that rule after finding this simple black oversized coat. I’ve been wearing it casually during the day with jeans, jumpers, and trainers, rather than with dressier outfits to avoid it looking like I’m a child borrowing my mums coat that’s too big for me!
Unfortunately I can’t find this exact coat online anymore, but I have linked very similar ones below.
