My Current Beauty Favourites

As we approach the beginning of the Autumn/Winter season, I find myself thinking about the beauty products that I have been worshiping over the last few months.

It’s a chance to consider switching up my skincare, makeup, and even haircare. But before I do so, I want to give you an insight into the beauty saviours that have become staples in my everyday routine that may well be staying for the long run.

My beauty look this Summer has been all about the skin. My goal has been a glowy, healthy and bronzed complexion. To achieve that, we need to go beyond the makeup and target the health of the skin rather than mask the imperfections with a bucket load of cover up.

Below you will find the key skincare products that helped me achieve this, starting with toner all the way through to the eye cream. I have also provided my go-to makeup products that completed the look, as well as one haircare product that has been nourishing my hair throughout the warmer months.

All the products have been used in the portrait shots.

Diorskin Forever Foundation*

I have found this foundation gives a flawless finish that lasts all day. The non-oily formula means it has a beautiful matte finish, yet isn’t too heavy on the skin.

Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronze Perfect Tan*

The perfect shade of bronze that provides a natural looking tan. I apply this below my cheekbones and around my jawline to accentuate my bone structure. And to give a natural sun-kissed look I sweep the bronzer from my temples around the outside of my forehead.

Tanya Burr Illuminating Powder in Warm Bronze*

This highlighter completes the dewy, glowy look that I have been going for. It is longlasting and at £7.49 is a great affordable option. My favourite shade is the Warm Bronze and I brush this over the points of my face where the light would naturally catch; cheekbones, browbone, bridge of nose and cupids bow.

Bobbi Brown Peace Love Beach Eye Palette in Beach*

The shades in this palette are warm and provide the perfect amount of shimmer. The colours are buildable so can be quite pigmented if desired but I like to use them lightly to achieve a subtle and natural shimmer for my eyes.

Burt’s Bees Lipstick in Ruby Ripple*

My go-to lipstick for the past few weeks! I love the creamy texture and it’s an added bonus that it’s made from natural ingredients and is super affordable. As in the portrait shots, I have been wearing this lipstick by dabbing it on my lips and using my fingers to soften it, almost like a tinted lip balm. The pigmentation is wonderful so it most definitely can provide a bolder look too.

Ouai Hair Oil*

My hair can often be quite unruly, so I definitely need a serum or oil to tame it. However, it can be tricky to find one that doesn’t make my hair look greasy. This one by Ouai (pronounced ‘way’) is divine. I use one pump of the product, rub it between my hands and then gently smooth it through the ends of my hair. It reduces the look of split ends and makes it look a lot healthier and smoother.

Liz Earl Instant Boost Skin Tonic*

I often find that after I have removed my makeup with cleanser, my skin still doesn’t feel entirely clean and free from makeup. Introducing this step into my skincare routine has definitely improved my skin. I apply a few drops of the tonic to a cotton pad and gently smooth it over my face. It always amazes me how much makeup is still left on my skin even after cleansing!

Erborian BB Flash Essence*

This serum gives a wonderful glow to your skin, perfect for Summer. I have noticed it makes my skin look healthy and is the perfect base for makeup. I apply this before moisturiser by warming one pipette full between my hands and gently dabbing onto clean skin. Once it has been absorbed, I apply moisturiser and eye cream (see below).

L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Creme*

I discovered this cream when I travelled to Provence to discover the roots of the L’Occitane brand. The founder of the brand, Olivier Baussan, spoke about how much he loved this Divine Creme range. Since then, I too have fallen in love with it. It feels so luxurious applying this rich cream and feels like a ritual.

Decléor Intense Glow For Eyes*

With lots of early morning workouts throughout the Summer, I can often look and feel quite tired mid-morning. This eye cream has a subtle shimmer, meaning when you apply it to your eyes it immediately makes you look more awake and healthier. It has really helped with minimising dark circles.
